Why do you want my newsletter?

MailchimpFor a couple weeks now, I have a newsletter signup form in both my sidebar and in my comment form. I didn’t expect many people to subscribe, so it was basically just a test. Besides having the forms available on obvious positions, I didn’t do much promotion for it. So you can imagine I was a bit baffled when I saw there were already over 50 people subscribed to my newsletter (after weeding out the obvious spammers).

To all of you expecting a stunning designed and well thought out newsletter, I’m sorry. Nothing like that is going to happen. I want my newsletter to be a really personal message that I can directly push to your inbox.

So what’s my newsletter gonna be about?

There are a couple things that I like to cover in my newsletter. First of all, is the major important ground breaking super duper fancy news messages. Probably not going to happen that often, but in case I have a quick news flash that I want everybody to know about right away, I might push out a newsletter.

Besides that, my newsletter is going to cover news about the projects I’m working on, my achievements and anything else related to my work in WordPress ecosystem.

But why do you need the newsletter?

For the email marketing people, a newsletter is a no-brainer. I’ve read numerous stories about why you should have a newsletter and why it’s so much better than Twitter, your blog or any other way people can follow you.

I haven’t been an active blogger, but still hanging in there. I have collected quite a bunch of Twitter followers, which is still my main source of traffic for new posts.

Still, I never tried setting up an email list myself. Until now. Question remains, what are you looking to get from my newsletter? Please let me know if you have any ideas of what I can add to my newsletter.

Want to receive the first edition? Subscribe now!

You can now subscribe to my newsletter and receive the first edition in early January. I promise I will not spam, all my newsletter editions are personally crafted messages.

If you like what I’m doing, want to read more about my work or just want to be on top of everything happening in my life, my newsletter is going to be the place to be in 2014.
